Leona Stillman Macklen, 94, formerly of the Macklen Rd., Lorraine and widow of Bernard Macklen, passed away Friday, February 21st at the Samaritan Keep Nursing Home with her daughters, Shirley and Mary at her side. She had been lovingly cared for the last few years of her life by the 5th floor staff.
Funeral services will be held in the spring at a date and time to be announced by the Lorraine United Methodist Church.
Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery, Rodman. There are no calling hours. Arrangements are with the Carpenter-

She was born in Lorraine, NY, December 2, 1919, a daughter to Benjamin and May Spencer Stillman. She graduated from Adams High School in 1938. Following her schooling, Leona worked for the Glazier Kinney Drug Store in Adams until her marriage to Bernard Macklen September 23, 1945 at the home of her parents. Mr. and Mrs. Macklen owned and operated a dairy farm in the Town of Worth until their retirement in 1983.
Mr. and Mrs. Macklen were active at the Stone Mills Agricultural Museum, the Lorraine United Methodist Church and the Lorraine Grange. She enjoyed gardening cooking and sewing.
Mr. Macklen passed away April 30th, 2007.
Leona is survived by three daughters, Shirley (Robert) Weikel, Lorraine; Mary (Noel) Trahan, Rodman; Joan Cristini, Deerfield Beach, FL. Three grandchildren, Lisa (Jason) Hays, Rodman; Christopher (Yuko) Weikel, Japan; Amanda (Stephen) Osborne, Baltimore, MD; two great grandchildren, Kiki and Ruby Weikel; many nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband Bernard, Leona was predeceased by a granddaughter as well as 5 siblings, Clarence and Spencer Stillman, Marion Moreton, Jennie Thornber and her twin brother, the Rev. Leon Stillman.
