A former resident of Perth is dead in the person of Miss Eliza McKay. Her demise was very sudden, she dropping dead on the street in fulton, NY, of heart failure, on Saturday, Jan. 10. Miss McKay had been in failing health for some time, and at the time of her death was going to see her tenants to collect rent. She had only gone a little distance from her house when she was stricken. Prof. Scholfield, one of her tenants whom she was on her way to see, was passing in his carriage at the time, and went to her assistance. Miss McKay was born in Kingston sixty years ago, the daugher of the late John McKay, Perth. She lived in this town for a number of years, until fourteen years ago she moved to Fulton to reside with her sister Miss Anna McKay. She has one sister living in town, Mrs. Menzies, who whith her nephew, John Menzies, Harper, attended the funeral. Mrs Allan, of Bay City, Mich., formerly of this town, was also in attendance. Mr R.H. McKay of Fulton, is a brother. The funeral took place on Tuesday, January 13.
