    Ethel Violet Comfort Funeral Saturday

    Funeral services for Ethel Violet Comfort, 73, Minneapolis, were Saturday, Nov. 26, 1988 at the Free Methodist Church, Minneapolis, at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Robert Moore, officiating.

    Ethel Violet Comfort, daughter of Ellery O. and Lila Wheeler Allison, was born Nov. 27, 1914, on a farm east of Delphos, and died Nov. 23, 1988, at the Ottawa County Hospital in Minneapolis.

    She grew up in the Hall neighborhood and lived there until 1945 when she, with her parents, moved to Minneapolis.

    Ethel was united in marriage to Ford L. Comfort, Feb. 5, 1956, and they operated the Economy Cleaners until shortly before she became ill.

    She was a faithful member of the Free Methodist Church in Minneapolis, serving as Sunday School teacher and filling other offices. She was a devoted wife and sister. Her quiet selfless service to family and friends will never be forgotten, and has endeared her to all who knew her.

    Ethel leaves to mourn her passing her husband, Ford, of the home; two brothers, Melvin Allison and Rolland Allison and wife LoRee, all of Delphos; a sister-in-law, Edna Coffman, Minneapolis; a number of nieces who treasured her as more than an aunt, and a host of friends.

    Music was by Darrell Allison, vocalist, and Melba Bruce, organist. Casket bearers were Bill Allison, Charles Atkinson, Jeremy Miller, Don Allison, Joel Heck and Dennis Lyne. Interment was in Hall Cemetery, Delphos. The family suggests memorials to the Free Methodist Church at Minneapolis. Shields Funeral Home, Minneapolis, was in charge of arrangements.
