    The most likely possibilities might be that he is the son of John McAllaster and was born in either Inverness or St Cuthbert's parish and his mother was Isobell (several last names uses).

    Alternatively he may be the son of Jon. (Jonathan?) McAlister and Chris. Allasoun and would have been born in Inverness or Glasgow.
