    Died:
According to news reports of the time, Joseph and Elizabeth McKay and their two children were returning to their home after a day in Forest at the fair. This was on Wednesday the 9th of October 1901 at 6:30 pm. As they were crossing the railway tracks on Main Street, their buggy was struck by a train. Their youngest child William Harold died almost immediately. Elizabeth died the next morning and Albert Irvin died in the afternoon of October 10th. Joseph McKay was seriously injured and taken to the home of John Greenlees. He eventually recovered. Elizabeth and her children were taken to the home of her father, George Rankin on the 8th of Plympton. The funeral was held on Saturday the 12th of October. Elizabeth and her children were buried in Beechwood Cemetery, according the newspaper. The Town of Forest does not know the plot number of the burial. They may be buried in the plot that Elizabeth's parents were buried in.
