MRS. ROBT. ROYCE
Mrs. Robert Royce of White Lake district passed away suddenly at her home on Wednesday morning, Dec. 3. She was going around doing her usual work when she suffered a heart attack. Mrs. Royce was the former Bertha Alice Miller, a daughter of the late Young Miller and his wife Mary Ellis. She was in her 69th year. In 1897 she was married to Robert Royce who predeceased her in April 1929. Left to mourn the loss of a loving mother are, Melville of Almonte; Oliver of White Lake and Lilburn at home; Eva, Mrs. James Raycroft of Blakeney; Stella, Mrs. Wilbert Pierce of Arnprior; Leeta, Mrs. Regie Bowden of Clayton; Rena, Mrs. Grant Patterson of Carleton Place; Vera, Mrs. Albert Seward of Pakenham; one son, Delmer died in 1937. Two sisters, Mrs. Walter Julian of Almonte and Mrs. Allan Wood of Indian Head, Sask.; and one half-sister, Mrs. Anna Raycroft and a brother, Mr. Ernest Miller of Cedar Hill also survive. She was a member of the United Church. Besides the wreaths and sprays from the family and friends were wreaths from the H.E.P.C., and the Blakeney Hunt Club. The funeral was held on Friday at 1.30 and burial was in Cedar (Hill Cemetery.) Rev. Mr. Jasper of White Lake officiated. The pallbearers were John Miller, Clifford Miller, Lawson Miller, Bert Julian, Billie Miller, and George Ellis

Bertha married Robert Allan Royce in 1897. Robert was born in 1853 in Lanark County, Ontario, Canada; died on 27 Apr 1929 in Mississippi Mills (Pakenham), Lanark County, Ontario, Canada; was buried in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Cedar Hill, Mississippi Mills (Pakenham), Lanark County, Ontario, Canada.
