Snow Road, Fri. Oct. 6th, 1916, Hugh McKinnon, in his 70th year. Born at Balderson in 1846, he married Elizabeth Millar in 1870 and moved to Snow Road in 1878. They had a family of ten children; Mary, deceased; Charles of Fallbrook; James and Hugh of Keoma, AB; Mrs. W.J. Richards, Calgary; Mrs. John Lee, Tofield; Mrs. Percy Johnston, Leduc, AB; Mrs. Harry Glover, Rosedale, BC; Florence and Edith, at home. Also two sisters are left; Mrs. J.J. MacDonald, Winnipeg and Mrs. H. McDonald, Fallbrook. Burial in Crawford's Cemetery, Dalhousie.

Hugh married Elizabeth Millar on 7 Nov 1870 in Playfairville Methodist Church, Lanark County, Ontario, Canada. Elizabeth (daughter of James Millar and Elizabeth "Granny" Smith) was born on 4 Mar 1855 in Palmerston Twp, Frontenac County, Ontario, Canada; died on 30 May 1918 in North Dakota, United States; was buried in Crawford Cemetery, Elphin, Dalhousie Twp, Lanark County, Ontario, Canada.
