    On the 11th of March, 1822, I married, by special license, in the house of John Ferguson, Peter Campbell, and Ann Gray, of No. 17 in the 6th Concession of Bathurst. Wm. Bell, Minr.

    Glenlyon is in the Parish of Fortingall, Perthshire and 5 Jul 1791 we find a Peter Campbell baptized at Fortingall to John Campbell and Margaret McGibbon

    Peter married Ann Gray in 1822. Ann (daughter of George Gray and Isabella Leslie) was born in 1802 in Banff, Aberdeenshire, Scotland; died on 6 Oct 1867 in Bathurst Twp, Lanark County, Ontario, Canada; was buried in Old Burying Ground / Pioneer Cemetery, Craig Street, Perth, Ontario, Canada.     On the 12th March, 1847, by special license from the Governor General, I married here, Duncan McNee, of Drummond, to Margaret Campbell, of Bathurst. Patrick Campbell and John Campbell signed the certificate. Wm. Bell, Minr.

    At the residence of her daughter, Mrs. Gardiner Gilday, 59 Bruce Avenue, Westmount, on Tuesday, May 11th, 1915, Margaret Campbell, widow of the late Duncan MacNee, in her 93rd year. Service at 8 p.m., at the above address, on Wednesday. Interment in Perth, Ont., on Thursday.

    Margaret Campbell, relict of the late Duncan McNee, aged 91 years. She was the eldest of the family of Ann Gray and Peter Campbell, whose families came from Scotland and settled in Bathurst in 1816 and 1817 respectively. She was married March 12, 1847. Her husband's parents came in 1821 from Lochearnhead, Scotland. He died in Westmount in June 1901 in his 92nd year.

    Two sons and two daughters survive: Peter Campbell, barrister, Picton; John B., Albany, N.Y.; Annie Gray and Margaret Campbell (Mrs. Gardiner Gilday), Westmount. Also two brothers: John G., Perth; Alexander B., Jacksonville, Fla.; Mrs. John McArthur, Seattle, Wash.; and Miss Catharine, New York.

    Daughter Elizabeth Clark and sons Duncan Stuart, M.D. and James Edwin, M.D. predeceased.

    The Late John Gray Campbell, Aged 89
    Father Of John Campbell and Mrs. John Macgillivray, Kingston - A Sketch Of His Career

    Perth Courier -

    On Monday last, 16th inst., John Gray Campbell, of this town, passed through the portals of death to the great beyond, after having lived many years beyond the time the great Hebrew ruler and moralist assigned to man as his stay upon this earth. Born in the year 1826, in October, he had finished nearly his eighty-ninth year when the final call came. He was a son of Peter or Patrick Campbell, who came from the historic Glen Lyon district in Perthshire Scottish Highlands, and settled, with the township, pioneers, on the 6th concession of Bathurst, where he died and where deceased was born. The grandfather, John Campbell, was the leader of the family in this immigration, but he died ery early after his arrival, in 1818. His mother, whose maiden name was Ann Gray, came from Bannfshire, Scotland, and was a sister of the late Robert and George Gray, once well-known in Bathurst. All the family, on both branches, were sturdy Presbyterians, and were staunch Liberals ?..

    ?.. In 1852 he was married to Miss Helen Murdock, daughter of the late Mr. A.W. Murdock, of Playfairville, and Lanark, Inspector of Public Schools in Lanark County, who survives him. Their children are: Alex. B., Edmonton, Alberta; John M., Kingston; Lorne, Nelson, B.C.; Alma (Mrs. A.B. Rudd), town; Eva (Mrs. W.T. Walker), town; Mary, (Mrs. Jas. Murns [s/b Burns]), Galt; and Annie, (Mrs. John M. Macgillivray), Kingston. The eldest son Peter was drowned in the winter of 1866 while skating on the Fall river. Of the many brothers and sisters, three survive; Alexander, Florida; Mary (Mrs. McArthur) Seattle, Wash.; Catharine, New York City.

    The funeral took place on Wednesday afternoon to Elmwood cemetery.
