    Major League Baseball Player. A 1st Baseman, he played for 1 Game for the Philadelphia Phillies in 1911. In 1914 he joined the St. Louis Terriers of the Federal League, playing in 132 games, and batting .222. The next year, he played only 7 games for the Terriers before being out of baseball. He served as a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps, during which time he received the Navy Cross for heroism in action in the Bois-de-Belleau, France.

    Hugh married Margaret N. Icenhower on 2 Jul 1927 in Clayton, St Louis County, Missouri, United States. Margaret (daughter of William Charles Icenhower and Margaret Seifert) was born on 22 Nov 1897 in St. Louis City, St Louis County, Missouri, United States; died on 1 Mar 1960 in Lemay, St. Louis County, Missouri, United States; was buried in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, Lemay, St. Louis County, Missouri, United States.
