Mary L. Benson
Mary Louise Benson, 66, of Cambria, died Friday, Dec. 26, 1986, in a San Luis Obispo hospital.

A rosary will be recited at 8 pm today in the Santa Rosa Catholic Church in Cambria. The Rev. James Sweeney will officiate. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 am Tuesday at the same church.

Mrs. Benson was born Nov 29, 1920, in Grand Oaks, N.D. She graduated from the College of St Catherines, St. Paul, Minn, with a degree in nutrition. In May of 1945, she married Myron Benson and moved to West Los Angeles. He preceded her in death in 1969. She was a homemaker throughout her adult life, and took great pleasure in cooking for her family being especially accomplished in gourmet baking. She came to Cambria in 1975 to be near her family. She was a very active member of the Santa Rosa Catholic Church.

She is survived by one son, George Benson of Cambria; one brother, George Colborn of McHenry, IL; one sister, Jeanne Erickson of Minnesota; two granddaughters; and several nieces and nephews.

Jonathan D. Benson
Jonathan Daniel Benson, 12, of Cambria died Friday Sept 21 1984 in a San Luis Obispo hospital. Services will be conducted at the First Baptist Church of Cambria Tuesday at 10 am with the Rev David Hollingsworth officiating.

Burial will be at the Cambria District Cemetery.

Jonathan was born July 12 1972 in Hanford. He was raised in Cambria. He attended Cambria Union Grammer School and was a member of Cambria the Cambria Boy Scout Troop No. 217 He participated in CYAA Sports program. He was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church Sunday School in Cambria. He was the Special Education Child of the Year for two years.

Jonathan is survived by his parents, George and Kathryn Benson of Cambria; two sisters Kristy and Nikki Benson of Cambria; his grandmother Mary L Benson of Cambria; his grandmother, Hattie Crawford Heitzenrater of Cambria; three uncles, Gary Crawford of Redondo Beach, Mark Crawford of Cambria and John Heitzenrater of Morro Bay.

Contributions in his memory may be made to the Johathan D. Benson Special Education Fund, c/o the Cambria Union Grammer School.
