    GEMMILL, David Elmer - D. Elmer spent his entire life at Snow Road Station, where he died peacefully in his 80th year on Sunday, September 4. 1994, surrounded by the love of his family Son of the late David Gemmill and the late Marion Fair Left to mourn his loss are his loving wife of 51 years, Evelyn Barrie; his children Dale (Mary), Earl (Heather), both of Snow Road. Walter (Marie) of R.R. 4, Perth and Elaine (Bob) Delisle of Elphin. He will be sadly missed by his 11 grandchildren, Rodger (Donna), Scott (Teri Lynn), Cynthia, Teri (Jodi Sweeney), Tracey, Jason, Angie and Erin Gemmill, Haley, Lesley and Ryan Delisle, great-grandchildren Leanna and Brandon. Pre-deceased by an infant grandson in 1976 He was a much loved brother and brother--in-law of Doris (Willis) Armstrong of Zealand, Laura McDougald of Elphin, Stanley (Margaret) of Perth. Cassie Gemmill of Brockville, Gordon and Ralph Barrie Predeceased by brothers Eldred, George and Gerald Gemmill and Sister Marion Barr Friends may call at the Blair & Son Funeral Home, Perth, from 2 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Funeral service will be conducted in the Snow Road Presbyterian Church on Wednesday. September 7th, at 1:30 pm Interment Crawford Cemetery, an Oddfellows Service will be held at the funeral home Tuesday at 7 p.m. In remembrance donations to the Snow Road Presbyterian Church or the VON would be appreciated.

    David married Evelyn Marie Barrie on 1 Jun 1943. Evelyn (daughter of Henry George Barrie and Nettie Davidson) was born on 26 Sep 1923 in Perth, Lanark County, Ontario, Canada; died on 13 Aug 1998 in Lanark County, Ontario, Canada; was buried in Elphin, Dalhousie Twp, Lanark County, Ontario, Canada.     Dale Gemmill

    Dale passed away peacefully on July 23rd, 2015 surrounded by the love of his family at his home in Snow Road. He was predeceased by his parents Elmer and Evelyn (Barrie) Gemmill and an infant son. Dale was the beloved husband to Mary (Pretty) Gemmill for 47 years and the adored and respected father to Rodger (Kelly) Gemmill, Scott (Alison) Gemmill and Cynthia (Joey) Ducharme and cherished Grandfather to Cole and Sierra Gemmill, Desiree and Deacon Ducharme and Devon Buxey. Dale will be greatly missed but always remembered by his sister Elaine (Bob) Delisle and his brothers Earl (Heather) Gemmill and Walter (Marie) Gemmill, his nieces, nephews, cousins and many good friends and neighbours. He was the founder of Gemmills Sand & Gravel, the founder of the Snow Road Volunteer Fire Department and the co-owner of D & M General Store in Snow Road. Dale was a cheesemaker by trade making cheese and butter for many years. He was a dairy farmer, a bus driver, a logger and will be remembered for his expertise in making maple syrup. He was also an active volunteer with the McDonald's Corners Agriculture Society (Past President) and the Snow Road Snowmobile Club (Past President). Friends may pay their respects at the Blair & Son Funeral Home, 15 Gore St., West, Perth on Sunday, July 26th, 2015 from 12:00 noon to 5:00 P.M. Funeral service will be held in the Snow Road Presbyterian Church in Snow Road on Monday at 1:00 P.M. Interment Crawford Cemetery. In remembrance of Dale, contributions to the Snow Road Presbyterian Church or the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO) would be appreciated.
