    Died:
    Kate was born in Lanark County, the daughter of Thomas Ferguson and Jane Balfour. On July 4,1882 she was married to Alex Duncan. She was Alex's 2nd wife, his first dying during childbirth. Kate and Alex had 5 children. Kate died Nov.25,1899 at McLaren's Depot, Lanark County, from Bright's disease.

    Death - Lanark Era - Nov.29,1899 -
    At McLaren's Depot, November 25th, Mrs. Alex Duncan, the former Catherine Ferguson, aged 39 years. An aunt, of Mrs. R.A. Duncan, of Lanark, she leaves a husband and family. Burial at Crawford's Cemetery, Elphin, on Monday last.

    The community of Snow Road was saddened by the death of Mrs. A.ex Duncan. Her death occurred on Nov 23th, after a severe illness, at the age of 40 years. Deceased was a bright, earnest, Christian Woman and was loved and rspected by all who knew her. She leaves behind her to mourn her loss a husband and five children, the youngest of whom is 6 years of age. The funeral took place on Monday the 27th, the service being conducted at the house by Rev J. Binnie and was very largely attended by friends and neighbors. The remains were buried in the Crawford Cemetery.

    Catherine married Alexander Duncan on 4 Jul 1882 in Manse, Lanark Village, Lanark Highlands (Lanark), Lanark County, Ontario, Canada. Alexander (son of James B. Duncan and Jane Purdon) was born on 8 Aug 1855 in Lanark Highlands (Dalhousie), Lanark County, Ontario, Canada; died on 23 Feb 1935 in Hopetown, Lanark Highlands (Lanark), Lanark County, Ontario, Canada; was buried on 25 Feb 1935 in Crawford Cemetery, Elphin, Lanark Highlands (North Sherbrooke), Lanark County, Ontario, Canada.
