Ruth died peacefully at North Bay General Hospital on Monday, August 28, 2006 in her 81st year after a brief illness. Ruth (Quigley) was the beloved wife of James W. Campbell of North Bay, and the loving mother of Glen (Susan) of North Bay. She was the proud grandmother of Greg & Lisa Campbell. Ruth was predeceased by her parents Pearl Ann (Storie) and Joseph Quigley and her sister Helen Fraser. She is survived by her sisters Muriel Keall (Gordon, deceased) of Astorville, Vera Duquette (Pat) of North Bay, Verna Giesler (Willie) of Powassan and Joseph Hector (Sylvia) of Powassan

Ruth was born on March 26, 1926 in Nipissing Township. She was the third of 6 children of Pearl Ann (Storie) and Joseph Quigley. Ruth grew up attending school in Christian Valley and was working when she met James "Jim" Campbell. They were married on September 15, 1951. A year Later they were blessed with the birth of their only child, Glen. In her younger years she liked to attend dances. After Glen had begun school, Ruth returned to the workforce and managed the Lighthouse Lodge on Lake Nipissing for two years. She also managed the Look-Out Motel for 7 years and worked at the Terrace Motel. When she wasn't occupied with the hospitality industry, Ruth enjoyed gardening flowers and vegetables both outside and in the home. Her home always had birdfeeders and she especially liked watching the hummingbirds feed. Ruth would send Glen to the store to bake something for her neighbours whenever they experienced a death or a challenge. Ruth Yvonne Quigley
Ruth, the fourth child of Pearl (nee Storie) and Joseph Quigley, was born on March 26, 1924 in Nipissing Township. Like the rest of her siblings she grew up in Christian Valley near the village of Nipissing where she attended school. On September 15 she married James Willard Campbell of North Bay, and is the mother of one son, Glen. In her younger years she lived to go to dances. After Glen had started his schooling, Ruth managed the Lighthouse Lodge on the Lake of Nipissing for two years, then the Lookout Motel for seven years and the the Terrace Motel. Ruth enjoyed baking for family and friends. she enjoyed gardening, watching and feeding birds. On August 28, 2006 she died of cancer at the North Bay General Hospital. Mom said when her sisters went to get her clothes for the funeral she already had them all together and waiting for them. Ruth is interned at the Powassan Union Cemetery.
