    COOK Helen Margaret Cook (nee Carroll),
    Carroll, as she was known to her friends, passed away peacefully at the Rosedale Hospice on the evening of Saturday, November 6, 1999 at the age of 87 years.

    Carroll was born in Vancouver, attended school in Drumheller and graduated from the Calgary Normal School. As a teacher, she taught in country schools near Rocky Mountain House, Wainwright and Tees, then in the town of Rocky Mountain House. Four years were spent at the Correspondence Branch in Edmonton where in addition to marking papers, she was the author of a series of radio scripts which were aired over CKUA and also with some International exposure. Finals years of teaching were at Capitol Hill School in Calgary from which she retired in 1966 because of failing health.

    Carroll is survived by her husband of fifty-seven years, Eugene; two brothers, Charles (Edna) of Eckville and Gordon (Violet) of Valleyview; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Jean Bardenhgen of Eckville, and by a brother William of Bentley.

    Special thanks are given to the nursing staff at the Rosedale Hospice for their tender care and compassion. Funeral Services will be held at MclNNIS & HOLLOWAY' S 'Chapel of the Bells' (2720 Centre Street North) on Friday, November 12, 1999 at 3:00 p.m. with the Rev. Victor Kim of Grace Presbyterian Church officiating. Graveside Service to follow at a later date at Queen's Park Cemetery. Floral tributes gratefully declined, if friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Alberta Cancer Foundation, co Tom Baker Cancer Centre, 1331 - 29 Street N.W., Calgary, Alberta T2N 4N2.     Mrs. Marlorle Jean Bardenhagen, of Eckville, passed away suddenly on April 3, 1992 In Eckvllle, at the age of 77 years.

    Marjorie Jean Carroll was born to Hurley and Beattie Carroll, on May 25, 1914 In Kamloops, B.C. At the time the family was living ot 150 Mile House, B.C. and then later at Ashcroft, then for a short time In Field, where her father worked as a telegraph operator. They then moved to Drumheller, where Jean attended school. They resided In Drumheller until moving to the Gilby area .

    In 1930, where she met and later married Glenn Arthur Bardenhagen on October 3, 1938. Jean and Glenn, moved to Nordegg in 1940 where Glenn drove truck. They then moved back to the Gilby area and Jean then cooked on various rig camps until her retirement In 1979. She continued to live In the Gilby area until her death.

    Our grandmother was an inspiration to all of her family and friends. She has a zest for life that could be compared to few. No one has made such an impression in our lives. She was not only our mother and grandmother, but she was also one of our best friends. Grandma Jean was taken away suddenly, before anyone had a chance to say good bye, now we won't say good bye but, see you soon, and until then your love and laughter will live in our hearts forever.

    Jean Is survived by her husband Glenn; children, Ron and his wife Sharon, of Aberdeen, Scotland; Bonnie Casey of Lac La Hache, B.C., and Rod and his wife Mary of Eckville. She will also be greatly missed by her seven grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, her brothers, Bill and his wife Irene Carroll of Bentley; Gordon and his wife Violet Carroll of Sunset House; Charles and his wife Edna Carroll of Eckville; and her sister, Helen and her husband Gene Cook of Calgary, as well as many close frlends. Jean Is predeceased by a grandson, Dustin Roderick Saige and her parents, Beattie and Hurley Carroll. Funeral Services for the late Mrs. Jean Bardenhagen will be held from the Eckville Community Centre, Eckville, on Wednesday, April 8, 1992 ot 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Andrew Burnand officiating. Interment will follow In the Bradshaw Cemetery. As on expression of sympathy, memorial tributes may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.     Mrs. Penelope Jane (Carroll) Rushton of Rimbey, Alberta passed away peacefully in the Red Deer Regional Hospital on Tuesday February 21 following a lengthy illness at the age of 61 years. Penny was predeceased by her son, Jimmy Rushton; her parents, Mr. Charles Carroll & Mrs. Edna Carroll; brother-in-law Stewart Grant; uncle Cliffton Shorrock; sister Beverly and brother Freeman. Penny will be lovingly remembered by her son James Rushton; granddaughter Anja; uncle Alan Shorrock, her three sisters; Heather (Paddy) Gunderson, Nita (Dwayne) Lawson and Kathleen Grant, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
