    Wed. Mar. 9th, 1927 - death

    Balderson, Fri. Feb. 25th, 1927, Mrs. Edward King, aged 81 years. Margaret Lawson was born at Lombardy and married 58 years ago. Mr. King predeceased her some years ago. She is survived by three sons and one daughter; Harry of Ogema, SK; Edward and James of Balderson and Mrs. George Echlin of Weyburn, SK. Three daughters and one son are deceased. Burial in Elmwood Cemetery.

    Mrs Edward King (Margaret Lawson) resident of Balderson for over half a century and widely known, highly respected in the community, died February 25th, Friday, 1927, at 8 1 years. Born Margaret Lawson daughter of Walter Lawson and Margaret Livingstone of Lombardy. Fifty-eight years ago (1869) she married Edward King of Elmsley who predeceased her. She is survived by 3 sons Messrs Hary King of Ogema, Sask; Edward and James of Balderson; and one daughter Mrs (Maggie) George Echlin of Weyburn, Sask; three daughters and 1 son predeceased her. Julis, Mrs J. Greig, Aggie, Mrs A. Darling; and Edna and Albert King. Members of Balderson United Church, funerall was held from her late residence to Elmwood Cemetery, Rev. R.A. McRae officiated. Pallbearers were Christopher Bell, James Pennett, Robert McIntyre, James McNaughton, Henry Mather, Robert Willis.

    There passed away at the Vanguard hospital on Dec 23, an old and respected residen of the Vanguard district at the ripe old age of 80 years and 6 months. Although being in poor health for three years, the old gentleman was often seen around town, cheery and fond of a chat. The funeral took place on Wednesday afternoon, Dec 24, service being held in the Burton Schoolhouse by Rev. S.W. Crouch, and was largeley attended Interment was made in Burton cemetery.The late Andrew Lawson was born at Lombardy, Ontario, on June 30, 1848 and resided there until coming to Vanguard district in 1912. Besides his aged widow he leaves three sons, five daughters and eighteen grandchildren. the sons are; Andrew Lawson, Lombardy, Ont; William Lawson and Robert Lawson Vanguard. Daughters Mrs J Lecuzer, Ottawa, Ont; Nurse Olive Lawson, Willard Parker hospital, New York City; Mrs C.D.Ablin, Wolfe Point, Montana; Mrs J.W. Moore, Shaunavon, Sask; and Mrs E.J. Clements, Moose Jaw, Sask.

    Andrew married Mariah Donovan in 1872. Mariah was born in 1848; died in 1934; was buried in Burton Cemetery, Vanguard, Assiniboia Census Division, Saskatchewan, Canada. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

    Died; Andrew's son died Lombardy April 27, 1894, at 20 years, 1894 (RR May 3, 1894) there has been much sickness in this vicinity of late Miss Jennie Copeland and Mrs John Hope are just recovering from a very serious illness. Mr. James H. Wood is again on the sick list. Mr. Andrew Lawson's son a boy about 20 after a long illness passed away on Friday last, and was buried in the Methodist cemetery here on Saturday, the service being conducted by a Mr. Warner, one of the Plymouth Brethren.
