    Died:
LEGARY - An old resident of this locality, Mr. Henry Legary, died at the House of Refuge on Wednesday, at the age of sixty-two years [sic - 75 years]. Deceased was born in the Township of Dalhousie [sic - Bathurst], but had lived in this vicinity for many years. He kept what is known as Hope's tollgate at the western town limits for a long time, but when the county assumed the Perth-Lanark macadamized road he lost that occupation and moved to town. He built the white brick house on West Wilson Street, now owned and occupied by Mr. Henry Burton, and also a brick house nearer town, but being unfortunate and injudicious, both passed out of his hands and finally he was left without means and was compelled to seek shelter in the County House of Refuge. He was married to a Miss [Marion] McDonald, daughter of the late Mr. Robert McDonald, 6th line Bathurst, but she and a daughter died before him some years. He was buried in St. John's (R. C.) cemetery.
