?/b??i?Near Fallbrook Thursday Morning When Thrown from Wagon
?/i?Sudden gloom was cast over Fallbrook and district on Thursday morning of this week when the sad news quickly spread that Harold Ashby, 14 years, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Ashby, had been almost instantly killed shortly after eight o'clock when he was thrown from a wagon load of railway ties into the ditch. He was driving a team of horses attached to the wagon when some of the ties began to slip and frightened the horses which ran away and young Ashby was thrown off into the ditch sustaining injuries which resulted in his death in about three minutes. Mr. Ralph Walroth was the only witness of the sad tragedy and rushed to the boy's assistance but found life extinct.

The boys parents were notified and also Dr. Strang of Lanark, and Dr. Dwyre, Coroner, of Perth, the latter, after learning the circumstances; deciding than an inquest would be unnecessary as the boys death was accidental.
(Deceased survived by his parents, three younger brothers and one sister.)
