    Armour -
    The community suffered a severe loss in the death at the Armour homesteaad, township of North Burgess, sunday morning, August 23, of Andrew Armour, one of its oldest and most respected citizens, son of the late John Armour, native of Linwood, Renfrewshire, Scotland and the late Mary McFarlane of Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland.

    The late Mre. Armour was born on November 25th, 1852 on the farm on which he lived ...late. He was a Presbyterian, being a member of St. Andrew's Church, Perth, and a staunch Liberal.

    Deceased is survived by his widow, three daughters and one son Mrs. J H MacLennan, Saskatoon, Sask., the Misses Marjorie and Margaret, at home, and Dr. John of the surgical staff of the Royal Victoria Hospital and McGill University, Montreal, one sister Miss Beatrice Armour, and one brother Mr. James Armour, both of Perth, three sisteres, Martha, Mary and Margaret and three brothers, John, Robert and Ephraim having predeceased him some years previous.

    The funeral was held on August 26th at 2pm privately from his late residence to Elmwood Cemetery, Perth. Service was conducted by the Rev. Dr. Samuel Davies, Westminster Church, Smiths Falls in the absence of Rev. Dr. Bunyan McLeod. The pallbearers were the Armour nephews of deceased. The honorary pallbearers were Messrs J Cuthbertson, W Findlay, D McLean, WW Walker, HA O'Donnell, Dr AW Dwyre, Dr JO Allan and Lt Col JA Hope.

    Andrew married Mary Donalda Campbell in 1889.     Obituary - Robert Armour
    The funeral of Robert Armour, resident of the 8th concessikon of Drummond township, and prominent figure in municipal and educational matters, who died at the home of his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. W. Wrathwell of the township of North Elmsley, was held on Monday afternoon from Alex. Blair and Son's Funeral Home to Elmwood Cemetery and largely attended.

    Rev. W. R. Alp, minister of St. Paul's United Church, conducted the services.

    In his 71st year, Mr. Armour was born in the township of North Burgess, a son of the late John Armour and his wife, the former Miss Elizabeth Shellington.

    He was educated in the Upper and Lower Scotch Line public schools and Perth Collegiate Institute where he was an outstanding athlete in football, track and field sports.

    Early in life he began farming in Drummond township where, for several years, he was a member of the township council and a school trustee in School Section No. 12. He was a member of St. Paul's United Church in Perth.

    He was married to the former Miss Mary Elizabeth Thompson, of North Burgess, who predeceased him in 1943.

    Surviving are three daughters, Mrs W.J. Wrathwell, of North Elmsley, Miss Margaret Armour, of Ottawa; Mrs. Clifford Buchanan, of Smiths Falls, three sons, Francis Armour, of Smiths Falls, Messrs. Donald Armour and Gordon Armour, of North Burgess, a sister, Misss Mary Armour, of Perth, and a brother, Mr. James Armour of Drummond.

    John Armour

    Mr. John Armour, well-known resident of this district, passed away suddenly at his home in Bathurst on Thursday, April 19.

    Born in Bathurst Township, November 14, 1878, he was the oldest son of Ephriam Armour and his wife, Ellen Moodie. In 1914 he was married to Helen Mason Miller of Glen Tay, who, with one son, Gordon Armour, DVM, of Perth, survives. Also surviving are two brothers, Alex M. Armour and Wilfred Armour, and one sister, Isoel, of Wawanesa, Man.

    Although quiet in manner, Mr. Armour was keenly interested in community affairs and willbe sadly missed in home and neighbourhood.

    He was a member of St. Paul's United church Perth.

    The funeral, held on Saturday, April 21, at the Blair & Son Chapel, was largely attended by relatives and friends. The service was conducted by Rev. W. R. Alp. Interment was in Elmwood Cemetery.

    The pall bearers were six nephews: Mason Armour, Ernest Miller, Dr. R. Miller, John Chaplin, Cameron Chaplin, and Donald Chaplin.

    Many beautiful flowers bore testimony of the esteem in which Mr. Armour was held.

    Dr John Campbell armour, 62, staff surgeon at the Royal Victoria Hospital and for a time assistant professor of surgery at McGill University, died Thursday.

    He was a fellow of the Royal College of Sureons and a member of the Canadian Medical Association, the Association of Surgeons of Quebec Province and the Montreal Chirurgical Society.

    Born in Perth, Ont., he graduated from McGill and later did post-graduate work at the University of Edinburgh, Scotland. He also lectured in anatomy at the University of Manitoba before taking up practice here.

    He is survived by his wife, a son and a daughter.

    John married Grace Meridith Millen in 1933. Grace (daughter of John Ernest Millen and Grace Leslie Cruickshank Shivas) was born on 8 May 1899 in Montr?al (city/cit?), Montreal Region, Quebec, Canada; died on 22 Jan 1971 in Montr?al (city/cit?), Montreal Region, Quebec, Canada; was buried in St. John's Cemetery, onte, Estrie Region, Quebec, Canada.
