    Mrs. Lulu M. Munro
    Lake City, Minn. (Special)
    Mrs. Lulu Mabey Munro, for 28 years a resident of Florence Township, Goodhue County, died here Saturday at the home of her sister, Mrs. Elton Lamb, after a long illness. Mrs. Munro was the widow of the late Col. James N. Munro, U.S. Cavalry.

    The former Lulu Bird Mabey, she was born April 5, 1875, at Long Prairie Minn., the daughter of Joseph E. Mabey and Lucinda Perley Mabey. Her early years were spent in Lake City where she came with her parents as a small child.

    She was graduated from Lake City High School with the class of 1890, from Winona Normal School, Winona, in 1891, and in 1897 from Wheelock College, Boston, Mass.

    She and her husband were high school classmates. Their marriage took place at her parents' home here Jan. 25, 1902. They lived on the Mexican border during the Madero insurrection and in following years were assigned to cavalry posts throughout the West and Southwest. Upon the Colonel's retirement in 1925, they returned to their native Minnesota to live permanently, settling in Florence. Col. Munro died in 1929, but until her last illness Mrs. Munro continued to live in the home they had established.

    Mrs. Munro belonged to the Lake City Methodist Church.

    She is survived by two sisters, Miss Nell (Florence) Mabey, and Mrs (Alice) Lamb.

    Funeral Services were held Monday at 2:30 pm at the Lamb residence and at 3 pm from the Methodist Church here, the Rev. A. Lloyd Asp officiating. Burial was in Lakewood cemetery.
