Of RR1, Deseronto, died at the residence of Theodore Maracle, after a lengthy illness at the age of 80. She was born on the Tyendinaga Indian Reserve, daughter of the late David and Eliza Elna Brant. She was educated on the Resrve and for many years, was chef at the School for the Deaf in Belleville. A member of the Tyendinaga Senior Citizens Club. She is survived by 4 sisters, Mrs. Susannah Maracle & Mrs. Leona Porter, RR1 Deseronto; Mrs. Ellen May Corby, Lakefield, & Mrs. Cleah Sero, Buffalo. A member of Christ Church. The funeral was held at All Saints Church with Rev. George Elson officiating. Interment in All Saints Cemetery. Pall bearers were Bennett Brant, Avery, Reg. & Rick , Maracle, Bob and Winston Brant.

Oleva married Edgar D. McKerracher on 18 Feb 1938 in Tyendinaga, Hastings County, Ontario, Canada. Edgar (son of Donald McGregor McKerracher and Sarah Jordan) was born in Sep 1897 in Fallbrook, Bathurst Twp, Lanark County, Ontario, Canada; died on 20 Feb 1972; was buried in Woodland Cemetery, Hamilton, Hamilton County, Ontario, Canada.
