    Campbellton and surrounding areas were saddened by the death of Reginald James Pollock on Sunday, Jan. 7, 1996 at Campbellton Regional Hospital, after a brief illness.

    Born on Sept. 29, 1922 in Glen Levit, he was the son of James and Barbara Betteridge Pollock. He attended school in Glen Levit and worked in the lumber camps for many years. He was employed for many years with Fraser Co. Ltd., Kedgwick, until his retirement, he was employed as a nursing orderly at Soldier's Memorial Hospital, where his caring and compassionate attitude touched many lives.

    He served with the Royal Canadian Artillery Unit as a gunner from 1939-1944. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch No. 19, Campbellton and was a Loyal Orange Lodge Member for over 25 years, where he served as county master and lecturer and did a lot of committee work in Grand Lodge.

    He leaves to mourn his wife Ann (Woodworth); three daughters: Sandra (Mrs. Wendal Harquail) Moncton, NB, Sheila (Mrs. Charles Duguay), Bowmanville, Ont; one step-son Mike Woodworth, Pringe George, BC. He is also survived by three sisters: Frances, (Mrs. John Smith) Campbellton, NB, Bertha Adams, Matapedia West, Que., and Glennis Pollock, Moncton, NB; two brothers: Beverly and Denzil, both of Glen Levit, NB,:two brothers Ronald and Whitney and a sister Doris, predeceased him.

    Funeral services was held on Wednesday, Jan 10 at 2 pm. in First United Church, Campbellton. Rev. Jim MacDonald, conducted the largely attended service, which was a very comforting one to Reg's family. The hymns sung were Amazing Grace, We Love Our Church O God, and Abide with Me. The eulogy was given by Penny Pollock.

    The numerous beautiful floral tributes, memorial donations, and other gifts testified to the high esteem held for Reg Pollock. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle and friend to all who knew him; and will be greatly missed.

    Pallbearers were Whitney Firth, William Betteridge, Keith MacKenzie, Robert Betteridge, Gary Irvind and Paul Murray.

    Honarary pallbearers were Penny Pollock, Vaughn Lyons, Bill Craswell, Charles Duguay, Dale Lanteigne, Jason Lebourque, Monty Murray, Pete Pratt, Basil Kaine, George Wilmont, Ashley Irvine, Merv Bujold, Foryest While, Neil Boudreau, Garth Fitzgerald, Lyman Carswell, Kerwin Wood, Bob Woodworth, Harold Poley, Bill Adams.

    Internment will be in the Glen Levit Cemetery.
