    Charles Stewart Mason Jr., beloved husband of Emily Bolger Mason, died Wednesday, May 10, 2000, at his home.

    Born in Sumter, he was a son of the late Charles Stewart Mason Sr. and Marie DuBose Brown Mason.

    Mr. Mason was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church.

    He was a graduate of Carlisle Military Academy and was a retired engineer with Seaboard Coastline Railroad. He was a life member of Claremont Masonic Lodge No. 64, Sumter York Rite Bodies and the Knights Templar Eye Foundation.

    He was preceded in death by a sister, Marie Mason Scarborough (Memorial #132197250) also buried at Sumter Cemetery.

    Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Sumter Cemetery with the Rev. Bill Rogers officiating, followed by Masonic rites. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Wesley Fellowship Class of Aldersgate United Methodist Church.
