    Col Howard S. Miller started as enlisted army Calvary. He was one of the few who started as enlisted army and was accepted to Officer school. Distinguished graduate School of the Line. Col Miller was temporarily elevated to Colonel during WWI, serving in France. He was returned to his previous rank, and rose up to Colonel again, retiring after 30 years. Awarded the Purple Heart. Married to his 1st wife Mabel Miller for 21 years, until her death. Married to his 2cd wife, Pauline Miller, for 39 years, until his death, mother of his only son, Howard S.Miller II.
