Officiating minister was Mr. Calvin Casselman. Mr. Alford was born at Oak Lake, Manitoba on September 27, 1891. Formerly of Hartney, Manitoba, he lived in this area since 1969. He was a retired farm
    equipment and automotive dealer. Mr. Alford is survived by his wife, Alice; two daughters, Lorraine (Mrs. Arthur) Hart-vikson of Sardis and Arden (Mrs. Dave) Stephens of Almagordo, New Mexico; four sons, Allan of Kelowna, Dr. Malcolm Alford of Abbotsford, Charles of Sardis and Terry of Victoria; 14 grandchildren; one sister, Anne (Mrs. George) Bennett of Saskatoon; two brothers, Lawrence of Eugene, Oregon and William of Santa Barbara, California. Pallbearers at the service were Allan Alford, Dr. Malcolm Alford, Charles Alford, Terry Alford, Arthur Hartvikson and Jim Wilson. Burial followed at Odd Fellows Cemetery.

    Mrs. Dorothy G. Adams, 83, of Allen Park, died this morning after a long illness.

    She was born Jan 28, 1897, in Runnymede, Quebec, Canada. The Former Dorothy Wheeler and James M. Adams were married July 16, 1927, in Dawsonville, New Brunswick. He died in 1967.

    They lived in Detriot from 1927 to 1939 when they came to the Midland area. Mrs Adams attended Sanford United Methodist Church.

    Surviving are a son R. Fletcher Adams of Sanford; a duaghter, Miss Dorothy G.W. Adams of Allen Park, brothers, John Wheeler of Bathurst New Brunswick, Alison and Howard of Sackville New Brunswick; sisters Mrs. Lillie Adamson of Vancouver, British Columbia, Mrs. Anna Ross of Hamilton Ontario and Miss Davita Wheeler of Toronto, Ontario. 10 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

    Services will be 1 pm Tuesday from the Wilson Funeral Home, Midland, the REv. James C. Braid officiating. Burial will be in Homer Township Cemetery.
    Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 pm Sunday. Memorials may be given to the Michigan Heart Association..

    Howard E. Wheeler, age 92 , of Sackville, N.B., passed away suddenly on September 27, 2004 at the Sackville Memorial Hospital, Sackville, N.B. Born in Runnymede, P.Q., on October 7, 1911, he was the son of the late David and Grace (Dawson) Wheeler. Howard was a farmer and salmon guide in his younger years, was a produce manager until his retirement, and was a member of active service during the war. Howard was a member of St. Paul's Anglican Church, loved his garden and was an avid card player and story teller. Howard is survived by his wife, Margaret Wheeler of Sackville, N.B.; one son, Eric (Dorothy) Wheeler of Sackville, N.B. and one daughter, Barbara H. Wheeler of Fredericton, N.B.; one sister-in-law, Margaret Wheeler of Dalhousie, N.B.; several nieces and nephews. Howard was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was predeceased by his son, Gordon Wheeler in 2001.
