    Margaret was born in Dalhousie on 5th Oct 1835. She married Archibald Nairn Penman (b. 7th Nov 1832 in Dalhousie) in Dalhousie on 7th Jun 1861.


    Archibald farmed Lot 16 Concession 1 in Dalhousie, which was where he died on 3rd Jul 1904. He was buried in St Andrews Cemetery, Watson's Corners.

    In 1911, Margaret was living with her daughter Martha and husband John James. She died in Dalhousie on 11th Apr 1917 and is buried in St Andrew's Cemetery, Watson's Corners.


    THE LANARK ERA

    Watson's Crs. Wed. April 11th, Margaret Hood, relict of the late Archibald Penman, aged 81 years. Born at Hood's on the farm now owned by John H. McNichol, on Sept. 5th, 1837 [this year is probably incorrect], she was married to Mr. Penman on June 7th, 1864. He died on July 3rd, 1904. They had two sons and six daughters, of whom two daughters survive: Mrs. John L. James and Mrs. James D. McDougall, both of Dalhousie. Burial in Watson's Crs.
