    GRANDMOTHER OF MAUDE ADAMS DIES

Mrs. Julia Anne Banker Adams Passes Away at the Age of Ninety.

Mrs, Julia Ann Banker Adams, grandmother of Maude Adams, the actress, died at 7:15 last evening at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Asenath Annie Adams Kiskadden, in the Smith apartments, 234 South Third East Street, at the age of 90 years. Death came as a result of advanced age.

Mrs. Julia Ann Banker Adams was born in Plattsburg, New York May 6, 1826. In 1845 she accompanied by her parents to Illinois and lived in Nauvoo. A year later she married Barnaby Lathrop Adams a close friend of Brigham Young and later associated with him in the pioneer days in Salt Lake. He was with one of the first parties to come to Salt Lake. After a few months here, however, he returned to Nauvoo for his bride.

With the exception of a few years spent on her ranch in Rigby, Idaho, and a visit to her granddaughter, Maude Adams, in New York in 1898, Mrs. Adams has resided here continuously.

Mrs Adams is survived by three daughters Mrs. Kiskadden. Mr. Charles Crouch, the wife of the Rev. Mr Crouch of Missoula, Montana, and Mrs Julia Quayle, of Salt Lake. There are three surviving sons, D. H. Adams of Rigby Idaho;, H. D. and Joshua Adams of Salmon City, Idaho. There are in addition fifteen grandchildren, one of whom is Miss Maude Adams.

Mrs. Adams has been in feeble health for several years. She has been almost constantly under the care of a physician

Maude Adams opened last night in "Peter Pan" in New York. The news of her grandmother's death was kept from her until after the performance. An effort will be made to have the Rev. Charles Crouch, pastor of the First Methodist Episcopal Church in Missoula, preach the funeral sermon Although arrangements have not been definely made, the funeral will probably be held Friday.
