Otis Gardner, who has been confined to his bed since last July, passed away Tuesday, February 6th. He was 88 years of age and lived here all his life. The funeral was held from his late home Friday. A number from here attended.

After 11 years of helplessness on account of rheumatism, Otis Gardner died on Feb. 6th, bronchial pneumonia being the immediate cause of his death. During the eleven years of the late Mr. Gardner's invalidism, his diet consisted only of toast and milk with no variation whatever and this had to be feed to him. He was ministered to by his niece - Mrs. Wm. Derby, and her family. Mr. Gardner was the son of Otis and Mary King Gardner. He was born Dec. 5, 1829. Feb. 19th, 1862 he was united in marriage with Miss Margaret Lambie. Two daughters, Helen and Julia- were born to this union. His wife and daughters as well as his sisters and brothers are dead. With the exception of one year in the west and two years on a rented farm one mile from his own, Mr. Gardner spent all of his 88 years on the farm two, two miles south of this village where he was born and died. Funeral services were held Friday at his late residence, Rev. J.C. Culligan, pastor of the M.E. church officiating.

Lambie and Ellen Morris) was born on 26 May 1832 in Canada; died on 10 May 1895 in Hammond, St Lawrence County, New York, United States; was buried in Rarick Cemetery, Hammond, St Lawrence County, New York, United States.
