Mrs Donald McLaren
An aged resident of the township of Drummond passed away at her home ther on January 26th, in the person of Mrs. Donald McLaren who had been declining for some weeks past, but with no other ailment than that consequence upon old age.
Deceased's maiden name was Maria Thornton. She was born in Arthpoy, Ireland, and when ten years of age came to Canada with her parents, who settled in the township of Bathurst, and after her marriage to the late Donald McLaren she moved to Drummond, wher she remained until her death.
Last fall deceased went to the West with her son, Mr. Archibald McLaren, where she visited many of her relations, and later returned home delighted with her trip and in fairly good health.
The surviving members of the framily are Peter S., Drummond; Archibald, in Perth; and James, at Crescent, Man. The daughters are Mrs Munro, of Rosetown, Sask.; Mrs Campbell, Macklin, Sask.; Mrs Howe, Pakenham; and Miss Bella, at home in Drummond. Mrs. James Bell, of Balderson, is an only surviving sister, and Mr. John Thornton, Bathurst, the only brother.
