    Obituary- Published in Kingston Whig- Standard, Kingston 31 March 2010 Wed. page 32- RITCHIE, Lawrence Preston - passed away suddenly but peacefully at home on Monday March 29, 2010 in his 66th year. Husband to Shirley (nee Grierson) of 40 years. Father to Heather (Geoffrey) Grieve and Alison. Loving Grandfather to Duncan and Andrew Grieve. Larry is also survived by brothers Brent (Rosemary) and Kevin (Liz). Son of the late Raymond and Wilma Ritchie. Larry was a devoted and active member of the Kingston Rotary Club (36 years) receiving the Paul Harris Fellowship. During his life he enjoyed many outdoor pursuits including downhill skiing, canoeing and hunting trips with friends in the Frontenac and Algoma regions. A graduate of Guelph University's Agricultural College in 1967, Larry was passionate about his career as an Ag. Rep and developing 4H clubs in Peel, Algoma and Lanark counties. Larry will be remembered most for his love of adventure, especially the outdoors and his love of dogs. He was a doting grandfather. According to his wishes, Larry will be cremated. His family will receive friends at the JAMES REID FUNERAL HOME (1900 John Counter Blvd.) on Saturday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A private interment will be held at a later date. For those desiring, memorial donations to the Kingston Boys and Girls Club or 4H Ontario (5653 Hwy 6 North, Guelph, Ont. N1H 6J2) would be appreciated.

    Lawrence married Shirley Mae Grierson in 1968. Shirley (daughter of Living and Living) was born on 21 Mar 1945 in Carleton County, Ontario, Canada; died on 28 Feb 2013 in Peterborough, Peterborough County, Ontario, Canada. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
