This community was deeply shocked to learn of the passing of Mr. John Milford Jacklin of South Elmsley Township
who passed away at the Great War Memorial Hospital, Perth, on January 25th, following a very heavy stroke.
Mr. Jacklin was born on a farm on Rideau Lake, on Oct 31, 1893, the only son of Richard Henry Jacklin and his wife, Melissa Looby. A sister Myrtle passed away in Nov 1939.
He leaves his wife, the former Helen R, Dodds, of Middleville, to mourn the loss of a kind and loving husband. He was a member of Lombardy Anglican Church, LOL and OYB, Perth, and also played in the Orange Pipe and Drum Band for many years.
The funeral, one of the largest in years from Blair and Son, West Gore Street, was conducted by his pastor, Rev. V. McPherson of the Anglican Church, assisted by Mr. R. A. Thompson, interim pastor Lanark Baptist Church.
The remains were taken to the Greenwood Cemetery Vault at Middleville for internment in the spring.
