Mr. Moodie was absent from the home twenty minutes, and when he returned his beloved wife was cold in death. About five minutes after the husband left the house, Mrs Moodie went upstairs and sat by the window. She had asked her servant tocome up and read to her; she was heard to be groaning and this attracted the attention of the servant who found Mrs. Moodie sitting in the chair and in a lifeless condition. She then summoned a neighbor but the lifespark had fled.
