The news of hte death of Mrs. J. Walter Findlay came as a shock to the people of this community, both in town and surrounding country. She died on Friday morning, after an illness of two days of the most intense suffering. As Miss Jennie Fisher, she was well known in town having been at one time a milliner in Mr. Sheffield's store. She was a daughter of Mr. Peter Fisher of Brant, and in June last became the wife of Walter Findlay.
Immediately after their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Findlay took up their residence at the old Findlay homestead, Braeside Farm, Con. 8 Brant and their life since has been one of unclouded happiness. Mrs. Findlay was a woman of bright cheerful disposition and during her comparatively short residence at Braeside greatly endeared herself in that circle. The funeral took place on Monday to the Malcolm cemetery and as might be expected was very largely attended by friends and neighbours. - Walkerton Telescope
