  	Her obituary appeared on 17 Sep 1896 in the Ogdensburg Advance and St. Lawrence Weekly Democrat in Ogdensburg, St. Lawrence, New York, as follows: "Morristown, Sept. 14.--On Monday evening last Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Carr received a telegram informing them of the serious illness of their daughter, Mrs. C. W. Stilwell of Philadelphia, N. Y.; they left on Tuesday morning's train. That evening another telegram was received by J. V. Stilwell announcing the death of Mrs. C. W. Stilwell which was quite a shock to her many friends here. The remains were brought here on Thursday and were met at the train by a large number of relatives and sympathizing friends who escorted the remains to Pine Hill cemetery, where the interment took place, the Rev. S. S. Cobb officiating. She leaves her husband and one daughter to mourn her loss, also her father, mother and one brother William of Watertown who have the sympathy of the whole community in their sad bereavement.
