Wendell O. Todd
MINNEAPOLIS ? Wendell O. Todd, 85, Minneapolis, died Saturday, April 24, 1999, at Ottawa County Health Center, Minneapolis. Mr. Todd was born Jan. 30, 1914, at Wells. A former resident of Wichita and Salina, moving to Minneapolis in 1946, he had worked at Boeing Aircraft in Wichita and Simpson, worked at Romeiser and Evans Grain in Salina, was a bookkeeper and parts manager at Dick Handy Chevrolet in Minneapolis until 1949, an independent insurance agent, abstractor and real estate broker with the Todd Agency in Minneapolis until retiring in 1976, a bookkeeper at Lott Implement Company in Minneapolis until 1997 and former longtime Minneapolis city treasurer. He was a member of Minneapolis First United Methodist Church and Minneapolis Lodge 143, AF and AM, and a former member of Concordia York Rite bodies and Isis Shrine of Salina.
His first wife, Marjorie, died in 1946 and his second wife, Pat, died in 1998. He was also preceded in death by an infant son, Robert Todd, and stepson, George D. Jones III.
Survivors include a son, Richard of Minneapolis; a stepdaughter, Judith Jones of Lyons; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Shields Funeral Home, Minneapolis, the Rev. Gene Langhofer officiating. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Minneapolis. Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church or Ottawa County Health Center, Minneapolis. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. to service time Wednesday at the funeral home, 405 Argyle, Minneapolis 67467.
