  	Gilbert Eugene Heald, third son of Clark G. and Zella (Lewis) Heald was born near Wells, Kansas, April 3, 1916, and passed away December 19, 1968 in the Ottawa County Hospital in Minneapolis, Kansas. He served four years in World War II, receiving a medical discharge after losing a leg in combat in France. He returned to the farm and his parents in 1945. In 1954 he moved with his mother to Minneapolis where he spent the rest of his life, working at his chosen occupation of farming.
