  	Delphos Republican Ford L. Comfort, the son of W. G. and Isabelle Heald Comfort was born on November 7, 1916 on a farm north of Wells. He passed away on Saturday, July 31, 1999, at his home in Minneapolis, having reached the age of 82 years. Ford served in the United States Army during World War II as a Tech Sergeant in Battery A, 500th Armored Artillery Battalion. He fought through south France into south Germany from November 1944 to May 1945. After leaving the Army, Ford farmed near Wells, drove a tanker truck and was a milk inspector. He was united in marriage to Ethel V. Allison on February 5, 1956. They owned and operated Economy Clearners in Minneapolis. She preceded him in death on November 23, 1988. Survivors include a sister, Edna Coffman of Minneapolis. He was also preceded in death by five brothers and one sister. The funeral was August 4, at the Free Methodist Church with Rev. Tim Hullett officiating. Organists were Phyllis Atkinson and Melba Bruce with Charles Atkinson singing. Pallbearers were Dwain Galgerud, Marty Amos, Warren Harder, Charles Atkinson, Dwayne Belvill and Jim Bruce. Burial was in Hall Cemetery, Delphos. Shields Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
