  	John Jacob Herring, Ill SHREVEPORT, LA - John Jacob Herring, III, of Shreveport passed away on Tuesday, July 31, 2012. He was born in Monroe. Graveside services will be held on Monday, August 6, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home. He was preceded in death by his parents John Jacob Herring, Jr. and Goldie Whitaker Herring Kite, and his wife, Ellen McCleary Herring. John was a loving father and devoted husband. He was known for his kindness, great faith in God, and a willingness to help others. Mr. Herring was honorably discharged from the U.S. Navy as an Electrician's Mate Second Class in 1954. He went on to receive his Bachelor of Science degree from Louisiana Tech. John became a successful system's controls specialist while working at Honeywell eventually forming his own company, J.D.J. Sales. He is survived by his children, Roger Herring and wife Dawn of Tulsa, OK, Kay Kussmann and husband Tom of Lake Charles, Susan Wallace and husband Bruce of Columbia, MO, grandchildren: Ben and Jeff Herring, Wendy Kussmann, Curtis Kussmann and wife Amber, Amy Wallace, Ashley Vinson and husband Jeremy, sister, Kathy Marcantel, brother, James Herring and wife Sheryl.
