  	His obituary appeared on 23 Sep 1910 in the Ogdensburg Journal in Ogdensburg, St. Lawrence, New York, as follows: "James Miller. Gouverneur, Sept. 22.-- Wednesday morning at 5:30 o'clock occurred the death of James Miller at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Emma J. Townsley, of Rock Island street after an illness of long duration. Mr. Miller was born June 21, 1833, being the youngest and last member of the family of John and Katherine Young Miller, who came to this country from Scotland and settled in Morristown. "Mr. Miller married Marietta Spooner, who died in June, 1909, after having spent 52 years of their life together. They came to this town about 14 years ago from their home in Dekalb. "The deceased was a member of the First Presbyterian church of this place. He is survived by two sons and two daughters, Charles and Herman Miller, Mrs. Emma Townsley and Mrs. Fred Holland, all of this place. Also five grandchildren. The funeral will be held Friday at 2:30 p. m., Rev. Mr. Skinner officiating. Interment will be made at the Riverside cemetery."
