  	Interred 1 Jul 1893 aged 81 years in presence of his sons Edward Bennett Jr., James Bennett, & John Bennett. [St. John the Baptist Burial Register] "An Old Resident Gone. On the 29th June last, another of the pioneer settlers of this part of the county passed away in the person of Mr. Edward Bennett, of the township of Bathurst. Deceased was born in the county of Cavan, Ireland, in the year 1812, and came with his parents to Canada in 1819. They settled on Lot No. 8 in the 8th concession Bathurst; and on this farm deceased grew up, and died after a residence upon it for seventy-five years. An attack of grip undermined his health a year ago, and at last, with his wife and ten children at his bedside, the old patriarch breathed his last. As indicated above, his widow and ten children - three sons and seven daughters - survive him. Mr. Bennett was a devout Roman Catholic, a good man throughout, and a Liberal who never swerved from his party. He was a subscriber to the Courier almost (from) its beginning."
