- Minnie Cora Walker died at the home of her sister, Mrs. Charles Millard, in Sauk Centre, Thursday evening, March 5, aged 33 years, 7 months and 24 days.
Miss Walker was the daughter of the late James Walker and was born in this city. She grew to womanhood here, attending the city schools. For a number of years she had been bookkeeper for the Canfield company at Cando, N.D. She had been in poor health for some years, but remained at her post of duty until about a year ago when she gave up and went to the home of her sister in Sauk Centre. Miss Walker was a young lady of fine character, gentle and retiring of disposition, a staunch friend and affectionate sister. In early life she had been baptized and confirmed in the Episcopal church in this city from which the funeral services were held Sunday afternoon, at three o'clock. The church was beautifully decorated with plants and flowers, the mute tributes of the love of the many friends who attended the services. These services were conducted by the Rev. Francis Anthony. The pallbearers were Cleve Sundblad, Dr. C. C. Strang, Ralph Cowing, Fred Oppel, Cleve Kolstad, George Raiter. The interment was in Kinkead cemetery.
The relatives from out of town who attended the funeral were Mrs. and Mrs. Charles Millard and Miss Sarah Walker of Sauk Centre; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Escher, of Melrose, and Mrs. Dan Walker, of St. Paul. Another sister is Mrs. Maurice Gerberich, of LaGrand. There are three brothers, Dan, of St. Paul; James, of this city, and Harvey, of Cando, N.D.
