  	Funeral services were held here at St. Mary's church on September 21 over the remains of Mrs. Dan Walker who died Wednesday, Sept. 19, at the home of her daughter, in North Dakota. Elizabeth Lehan Walker was born in Quincey, New York, June 1860. Last September, Mrs. Walker was operated upon for cancer at Spokane, Washington and had apparently recovered until six weeks ago. Reoccurrences of the malady caused her to fail rapidly until death brought relief. In 1876 she came with her parents to Leaf Valley, and lived on a farm there four years. She was married to Dan Walker and they made their home in Alexandria. To this union three children were born. Rev. Fr. Renner officiated at a requiem mass and after the impressive church services delivered a very appropriate sermon. The remains were taken to the Kinkead cemetery and laid beside her husband who preceded her in death. (Park Region Echo, 27 Sept. 1923)
