Mrs. J.N.(sic) (Dick) Newson
Deep regret was caused throughout the community by the sudden death at her home on the third line of Bathurst, on Thursday, Oct. 28, of Mrs. J.N. (Dick) Newson, at the age of 52 years.
Mrs. Newson was the former Margaret Florence Robertson and was born in Carleton Place, a daughter of William Alexander Robertson and his wife Charlotte Shair.
On April 29, 193`, she was married to J. W. Newson, in Ottawa. For a number of years, with her husband, they operated the popular summer resort of Arliedale Inn, and after disposing of the business resided on the 3rd line of Bathurst.
The absence of her cheerful manner and happy disposition will be felt in the Calvin United Church Women's Organization, where she took an active part, always willing to lend a helping hand in church work.
Besides her husband, she is survived by one son David, of Perth, and one brother, Gordon Robertson of Aylmer, Que.
The funeral was held from the Blair and Son Funeral HOme on Saturday, Oct 30 and interment was in Elmwood Cemetery, Rev. E.V. Cook, Bathurst, conducted the funeral service.
The honorary pallbeareres representing the Women of Calvin United Church were: Mrs Tobias Stafford, Miss Edith Miller, Miss Mary Miller, Mrs. George Jordan, Mrs Harvey Miller and Mrs Calvin Jordan.
Active pallbearers were: Hubert Campbell, Frank Finlay, John Aucterlonie, James Girdwood, William Scott and Calvin Jordan.
