  	ames George Fraser was born in Coldbrook, Nova Scotia in January 1873, the second child of Alexander and Agnes Ogilvie Fraser. He arrived in Billings Montana in 1885, with his family. He was the founding member of the family firm of A. Fraser & Co., livestock brokers. Fraser was also longtime member and officer of the Maverick Hose Company. He married his longtime sweetheart Alice B. Nickey on September 24, 1898 in Big Timber, Montana. They had five children. James G. Fraser was a successful sheep broker and community leader. He developed cancer and died prematurely on October 24, 1924, leaving the company that he founded to his two surviving brothers.
