  	William Edward Allan Rowat was the son of William Rowat and Eliza McLean. He was born in1892 in Athelstan. He married Margaret Jean Cameron on July 19, 1934 in Hemmingford. They had a little boy who died the same day he was born. What a sorrow for this couple. William died in 1968 at the age of 76 years. Huntingdon Gleaner Extract: Nov. 5, 1914 Joined the 5th Battery of the Field Artillary Sailed to Englandwith the First Contingent, arriving at Plymouth on October 15, 1914, but not disembarking until the next day. The horses were quarantined, so they had toremain in Plymouth a few days longer. "The voyage was a most enjoyableone, even if it was slow. There was little sickness on board and most of themen got over in good shape and fine spirits." 07-19-1934 Margaret Jean Cameron, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.Charles E. Cameron, married William E. A. Rowat, son of the late Dr. and Mrs.Rowat of Athelstan PQ. At the United Church in Hemmingford PQ, by Rev. J. G.Fulcher.
