- DEE HANSEN Arabelle "Dee" (Burress) Hansen passed away peacefully at her home in Orland, CA on July 20, 2018, following a brief battle with cancer.
Dee was born on June 23, 1939 in Willows, CA to Lester Luce and Velma (Luce) Holland. Dee was raised on a family ranch in Elk Creek with her brothers, Hugh (Patti) and Lonnie Luce (Carol). She attended high school in Willows with the class of 1957. In January of 1958 Dee married Jim Burress (of Willows, CA) at the age of 18. They had two children: a son, Hank, in 1958; and daughter, Karen, in 1959. During their 53 years of marriage, Dee and Jim lived mostly on Llano Seco Rancho where Dee enjoyed cooking, gardening, traveling, playing Bridge and spending time with family and lifelong best friends.
Dee married Dick Hansen (of Elk Creek) in a lovely outdoor ceremony in June of 2016. Dee is survived by her husband Dick, daughter Karen (Michael) Cosper, son-in-law Dan DuBose, sister Liz Henniger (Rudy); 3 grandchildren: Danielle Ford (Grant), Hank DuBose (Kayla), and JonMichael Cosper; 4 great grandsons: Kash (10), Conley (9), Kasen (6), and Aarow (1week), and sister-in-law, Shirley (Burress) Eggert (Bill) and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Velma and Lester Luce, husband Jim Burress, son Hank Burress, and her brothers, Hugh and Lonnie Luce.
The family would like to invite you to celebrate her life at 1:00 p.m. on, August 8, 2018, at Open Gate Christian Fellowship (950 W. Laurel St., Willows, CA)(potluck immediately following the celebration of life). In lieu of flowers, a fund is being established for Dee's great niece, Jessica Thur, age 32, to support her own ongoing battle with cancer.
