  	"Orland Register" (Orland, California), Saturday, 23 February 1907 Newville Mr. Alonzo Luce, Sr., died at four o'clock p.m. Wednesday aged 79 years and 9 months. He was a well to do farmer, living near Newville. He came to California in 1853 and settled in Sonoma county. He afterwards farmed near Princeton two years, and came from there to Newville forty-two years ago. He leaves a wife, five sons and three daughters, all grown. They are John, Isaac, Alonzo, Guy M. and Zachariah Luce, Mrs. James Millsaps, Mrs. H. Milligan and Mrs. Robt. Gibbons. - Transcribed by E.
