  Notes	Ed MacPherson settled in Calgary and his obituary in the Calgary Albertan of 23 Jun 1937 states "In the fall of 1883 Ed McPherson, then a lad of 17, along with his half-brother (Harry Mather) and two other young men, went west and contracted the building of the CPR roadbed."  According to the Albertan, the grade they built is now the present site of Calgary.
