  	HALPENNY_ Elsie May Halpenny, born October 12, 1912, passed away peacefully on January 13, 2004. Elsie was predeceased by her husband Lloyd on June 29, 1996, her father George Totten in 1943, her mother Clara in 1964, her sister Helen in 1965, brother George 1984 and sister Beryl 2001. Elsie is survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Elsie was married in 1942 and later was employed by Wood Gundy for twenty-five years, retiring in 1977. She had been a Toastmistress and enjoyed public speaking. A past Queen of Anget Temple, Daughters of the Nile; past President, The Wa Wa Temple Ladies Auxiliary to the Shriners' Hospitals for Crippled and Burned Children; an elder of Lakeview United Church and a past officer of the U.C.W. Elsie loved the water, swimming and boating at the cottage. The family would like to thank Diane and Alan Hind and all the care givers for the excellent care she has received at Erimus Personal Care Home where Elsie had been a resident since June 2001. The family is also very grateful to Dr. Stephen Bester.

  	Elsie Totten Is Bride of L. G. Halpenny A quiet wedding was solemnized Thursday evening, April 2 at the home of Mr. and Mrs. George Totten, C. Albeit Court, when their eldest daughter, Elsie May, became the bride of Lloyd G. Halpenny, only son of Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Halpenny, 1 Lorscott apartments. Rev. Dr. A. D. McKenzie performed the ceremony. The bride wore an aqua blue: street length dress and corsage: of talisman roses. She was attended by her sister. Mrs Beryl Little, who wore an air force blue dress with corsage of roses. Mervin M. Wells attended the groom. A reception was held following, the ceremony The tea table centred with a tiered cake, and adorned with spring flowers, was presided over by Mrs. D. C. Little.
