	E. U. GARTEN. GARFIELD, Wash., March 15. Masonic funeral services for E. U. Garten, 69, former city councilman and manager of the Standard Lumber company here, were held in the Presbyterian church today, the Rev. C. M. Herford officiating. Mr. Garten, born in Illinois, was married in Nebraska in 1889, went to Moscow, Idaho, in 1903, and moved here in 1909. He went to Portland in 1928, following the death of his wife. He died there March 12. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. P. F. Campbell, Portland, Ore.; Mrs. W. K. Farthing, Waterville, Wash., and H. W. Garten, Mansfield. Wash.; a brother and two sisters.
