  	3 Dec 1914, The Ottawa Journal Mr. George Smith, an old and respected resident of Leitrim, Ont., died on Tuesday at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. N. Gooding, 88 Aylmer Avenue. Deceased, who was in his 70th year, had been ill for several weeks. Mr. Smith was born in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, coming to Canada when he was a child and residing at Leitrim ever since. In religion he was a Presbyterian and attended the Billings' Bridge church at that denomination. Besides his widow he leaves three sons and three daughters---Messrs. Alexander and Stewart Smith of Ottawa South, James Smith of Maple Creek, Sask.; Mrs. J. J. Heron of Billings' Bridge, Mrs. N. Gooding of Ottawa South and Miss Ella May Smith at home. Two sisters are Mrs. William McCann of Billings' Bridge and Mrs. Jaffray of Victoria, B.C. Dr. Gordon Henderson of Ottawa and Mr. Stuart Henderson of Victoria, B.C., are nephews. The funeral took place this afternoon from the family residence at Leitrim to Johnston's cemetery.
